Apple Makes Francis Hwang a Happy Guy
The best thing to happen in Francis Hwang's day was when eBay pulled his auction because of a complaint from Apple. On it's own, Fracis Hwang's "U2 vs. Negativeland" iPod project would have been funny and it would have made a statement to support the Downhill Battle organization. (If you don't remember the whole U2 squashes Negativeland battle then you'll have to google it.) But when Apple got involved and submitted a complaint to eBay that it "infringes the rights owner's copyright, trademark, or other rights," that's when it got really big. I'd think that if anyone has a beef with this, it would be Negativeland, not Apple or U2. You can't buy this kind of press.
