The iBoom is iBuilt to iBlast

iboomNew is the iBoom from DLO. The iBoom sports an amorphous shape with a slot in the front to insert an iPod or iPod mini. The unit pushes 20 watts per channel to four speakers, features an AUX in port, a built-in handle, and it runs on AC power or 6 D batteries. When plugged in, the iBoom will charge the iPod that's cradled.

This unit looks pretty good. Although it won't melt any speaker cables, 20 watts per channel with a 2-way speaker system has the potential to produce decent sound. The portability factor is a plus, and I like how it will charge the iPod only when it's running on AC power. So, the only thing that remains to be seen, and this is perhaps the most important factor, is the sound quality. If I badger them enough, maybe they'll send me a review sample.
