Methodshop reviews the Otterbox iPod mini waterproof case

Methodshop has posted an unorthodox, but very thorough product review of the Otterbox iPod mini waterproof case. In order to test the real-world ruggedness and waterproofness (yes, that's a real word - I looked it up) of the Otterbox case, they requested the help of a dog and a naked wife. Creative, yet surprisingly valid, tests show that the Otterbox does a good job of protecting the iPod mini from water and abuse.

I bought this thing today. I got it home, took it out, plugged the ipod mini in, and sound only came out of one earphone. I took it back, exchanged it, plugged in the Ipod and it worked fine. I got it home, and decided to test it before it might get used. I put a paper towel in the case, closed it up, put it in the water, and submerged it. Nothing happened. I ran my finger around the scroll wheel and BINGO!!! Bubbles started coming out of the seal around the wheel. Part of the scroll wheel membrane wasn’t even attatched to the box. Two out of two failed right out of the package. I would not recommend this item. I’m sure OtterBox won’t replace your Ipod because their product failed.
