- There's More to the Apple/Intel Deal Than Even Bob Thought At First: Robert X. Cringely delivers another eye-opening round of conjecture, this time he examines Apple's move to Intel chips, he throws in a couple of other companies you've never heard of, and comes up with a plausible scenario. He writes, "...Intel's 'digital home entertainment devices' will be ITMS-compliant. No Microsoft, no Real, just H.264, FairPlay..." The last piece of the puzzle is, "As always I have no insider information at all, but it wouldn't surprise me if Apple introduced a super-high-capacity [video] iPod and a separate retinal-scan display." You have to read the whole thing, it's very interesting and, if true, would help Apple leapfrog everybody else. Here's to hoping... Via MDN
