Waking Up to the iPod Alarm Clock at MethodShop.com

Like the rest of you, I like to make a cup of hot tea and cuddle up with my iPod before retiring for the night. He shares the pillow with me as soothing thoughts of navigating playlists and activating shuffle play lull me to that serene land of dreams where everything is glossy white and has rounded edges.
MethodShop.com takes this a step further with their tutorial Waking Up to the iPod Alarm Clock. "Whether you prefer to be woken by the scream of a rock star or the French horn in a classical symphony, the iPod’s Alarm Clock can help you open your eyes every morning with style!" If you haven't used the alarm function in the iPod, this is a great primer. If you're already familiar with it, this tutorial still has some valuable hints in it.

I like the idea of an iPod alarm clock, but Apple needs to add a snooze function. Also, it would be nice to make it shuffle your wake-up playlist without having to set the global “shuffle songs” function on.

yeah, i use it every morning and i have one big issue with it:
it doesn’t have an auto-timer to shut off after the alarm has gone off for so long (like normal alarm clocks shut off after 60 mins). Because some nights I am on business or not sleeping at my place and my ipod alarm kicks in and runs until my battery is dead, and it really irks me

and yes…a snooze would be GREAT
you know you would think apple would think of this crap, since it is a standard function on every alarm clock

Can you please post a news blurb about these ipod Nano Bugs. I opened a thread at Macnn, filed a bug report (apple seems to ignore) this bug is reproducible in all nanos (i’ve tried over 4 of them, try one yourself) Please post a news blurb about this, since you might be able to get somebody’s attention:

As far as I can tell, this doesn’t work at all. I have a 40-gig iPod with software 2.2, and even if you have a playlist created, the only available option for alarm sound is “beep.”
Pathetic.

Well, I seem to have a slight prob with the alarm as well. Have a 60GB Photo (4G) one for about a year..every now and then I’m trying the alarm, whether it finally decided to work .. today was the day, right after the first try! Am F impressed …unfortunately for the rest of the 365days I would be thankfull even for that “beep” ..strange
