Apple announces the iPod nano
Apple has just announced the new iPod nano, "Take everything you love about iPod and shrink it. Now shrink it again."
The iPod nano sports a sleek white or black (!) exterior that mimics the much-loved regular iPod, comes with your choice of 2GB or 4GB of flash memory, and is priced at $199 and $249, respectively. At 1.5 ounces, it is very light and measures only 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27 inches. That is small, people. The 1.5 inch color screen enables the iPod nano with all of the now standard photo viewing and album art capabilities previously known in the iPod photo.
May I be the first to say, "wow." This looks fantastic, it seems to combines all of the elements that I like so much about the mini and improves upon them by making it smaller, better looking, and endowing it with a color display. The price is reasonable, as is the storage capacity. I dig the name, too.
Visit the iPod nano page at Apple.com or view the tech specs here.
Update: I want one. Badly.
Update 2: It would have to be the 4GB model, though.
Update 3: And I think I'd choose the black.

Ouch, I love the look of the Nano (and it’s so thin!), but I just picked up a Mini and now I wish I had waited a little longer! Very sleek.

Flash memory - isn’t HD better than flash? What are the drawbacks if so? I’ve got a mini but if the nano has the same functions plus colour screen and iPhoto then I’d be tempted…

HD can be better as it usually holds more data. But… If you’re the ‘on the go’ kinda person definitly take the Flash. It holds less but if you drop it the storage device won’t brake.
IE. Drop a Ipod and you could possibly damage the Harddrive as it has moving parts.
Drop the Nano and it’s less likely to stop working as it should have no moving parts.
————————————————–
Not sure the load times of both, but the HD based players, if you upload songs and delete them and repeat you will start to notice there will be a slight delay in the time it takes to change to the next song. HD Fragmentation, yuck.
Does anyone have one of these nano’s yet? I know they just released them yesterday, but i want to buy one for my friend, but i don’t want to get it if it’s low quality material, yadayadayada.
Other then those questions, it looks cool. Friend’s been wanting the Ipod Photo, here it is… and this is going to be the next “BIG THING” because they just released them, if you got one of these…. you’re cool. : )

there actually is an easy way to delete songs!!!
1. go into library and delete the songs u dont want(right mouse click and press clear)2. go bak into where the songs that are actual on ur ipod are like for me it would be nicoles ipod. 3. go into file and “update” ipod.

There are some idiots. Ipods cant really hold 500 (2GB),240(1GB),1000(4GB)songs. ITS ALL IN THE MEMORY. 177 MB is taken away from the Ipod cause thats all the other stuff the extras.
Note: how do u delete songs? i got some christmas songs that i never even got i was so pissed off when i saw them on my ipod… NOW GIVE ME A CORRECT ANSWER OR ELSE.
