DLO HomeDock: There’s no place like home… dock

The new DLO HomeDock is an iPod docking station and remote control combo. It features outputs for S-Video, composite video, analog L/R audio connections, and a standard USB connection for synching with your computer. The included remote can control 14 functions of your iPod. The HomeDock will ship in October and it's compatible with regular iPod, iPod mini, and iPod nano. At $100 it's not cheap, but it looks to be a really nice all-in-one solution.

Very poor audio quality. This thing picks up noise from the ipod (drive spinning, etc) and also generates its own noise. I don’t understand how the reviews could say this is a good product. I tested two of them with two different ipods (3g & 4G) at two different locations, with speakers and headphones, and got the same result every time. I doubt everything everywhere was defective.
DLO makes nice cases, but their electronics are crap. I rate the sound quality of this device as POOR at best, and certainly not worth the price.

I purchased a home dock and after installing it in my home sound system I noticed a horrible ammount of noise generated by it. It was the same with my 30 Gig photo and 60G video. I took it back and exchanged it with a new unit and had the same results–high pitched frequency noise and other distortion. I am taking this one back too and would not recommend it to anyone. It looks cool and stylish but sounds like hell.

I cannot get the dumb thing to work! I’ve tried everything. Even bought a S viedo cable. I looked at their web site and still no help. Anyone have any suggestions?
