Downloaded music continues to pick up momentum, people accidentally downloading Mariah Carey songs

Mariah Carey has the most downloaded song?! What's with that?!
- BBC reports, "Albums sales in the US dipped by 7% in 2005 but the music download market doubled over the past year."
- "Music downloads rise 50% as iTunes dominates" according to MSN Money. They state, "Visits to music downloading websites saw a 50 per cent rise on Christmas Day." (I'm guilty)
Are you seeing a trend here? I don't think downloaded digital music has reached critical mass yet, and it probably won't until iPod/DAP integration is more prevalent (in cars especially). However, despite the strong growth of downloaded music, more than 95% is still sold in CD format. That's a lot of Mariah Scarey discs.

Damn Mariah Carey.
Hey man wondering if you could lend me some advice. I have an ipod blog, http://blogmypod.com. most of the content is copied from other sites, some original stuff. How did you get so high up on Google’s rankings? I’m just starting out so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Red

Does anyone know if the rumor is true; that Apple iTunes’ layest software collects information about what you play (not purchase), in order to send you similar song/artist info, in hopes that you will buy adition songs? I can find no reference to this in Apple’s user agreement or privacy policy. I do not want to give up my privacy rights to Apple, if true.

I have to agree with you that downloaded music is still in the process of development. In fact, only a portion of the society are aware of this technological advancement. However, the innovators of modern gadgets, which promote music have to be lauded. After all, the presence of Ipods and other innovations paved the way for this musical revolution. Likely, this trend of music madness will conquer even the hardly reached places of the world.
